Correction yto my previous post: NO satellites were acquired in several ours...

Garmin GPS 296 suddenly fails to acquire satellites

When plugged into the plane in the usual manner and turned on ...so satellites were acquired in several hours....

My 296 will not pwoer up with batt or external power source. Will a failed batt cause this problem ?...
